To enter Lam Kinh Palace, you need to go through Ngo Mon Gate. After 10 years of leading the Lam Son Uprising to success, King Le Thai To decided to build the capital in his homeland. It was also the land where over 600 years ago, his great grandfather saw more than a thousand flocks of birds gathering around. Hence, the King made his palace extremely imposing.

Lam Kinh Palace stands in the middle of 3 mountains and 1 river. In the North Side, there is Dau Mountain. Chu River is on the South Side.  In the East Side, you will see Phu Lam Mountain. And finally, Ham Rong Mountain is on the West Side.

When you walk through the first gate, you will see Ngoc River with Tien Loan Kieu Bridge spanning over it. Crossing the bridge, the Dragon Yard, which is about 4000 meter-square, will surprise you. Connecting the Yard with the main palace is the stairs, having 9 steps and a pair of dragons on both sides. They must have been sophisticatedly charmed with unique architectural features of Le Dynasty.

Each of the mausoleums carries exclusive architecture and has different statues inside. Particularly, inside Khon Nguyen Tomb of Queen Mother Ngo Thi Ngoc Giao, all of the statues are female. 

4. The ancient well and banian tree
